Yes, the Patriots are Champions of the World, However We Have a Bigger Issue

So as everyone knows by now the Patriots are the greatest team of all the land. Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever hold a pigskin, Bill Belichick is the greatest person to ever hold a playbook, and despite not being able to pin the Falcons in the biggest game of his career, Ryan Allen is the greatest punter to ever punt things. Biggest comeback of all time, biggest choke of all time, most passing yards in Super Bowl history, greatest catch in life, craziest storyline ever, used 3 different quarterbacks, the list goes on and on and on. But this isn't about the Patriots winning their 5th Lombardi Trophy in 15 years and cementing their spot as the most elite sporting franchise of the 21st century (make sure you say 21st century, the Pats were reallyyyyyy bad for a looooong time, so we can't be the best franchise ever). This also isn't about a up & coming podcaster-turned-blogger-turned-back to podcaster because writing stinks predicting at the beginning of the game that the Pats would win 34-28 then tweeting it out again at half time when the Pats were down 21-3 while the rest of the world said they were done, no this is about an even bigger issue.

The leader of this powerhouse of a sports franchise, maybe even the leader of New England in general, kissed his father on the lips. On the lips! Now I know this is typical KR fashion where something happens and I wait at least 48 hours so everyone forgets about it than I give my opinion, but this is bizarre right? Have you ever kissed your dad on the lips? Have you ever kissed your father in general? I know for sure I never have. I can't even remember the last time I hugged my dad (this could also be because my father's son is trying to become a professional podcaster so there's not a whole lot to hug about) let alone give him a smooch! Now I could be very wrong on this one, maybe I', the weirdo who doesn't kiss their dad goodnight, but I feel like this is very European and I'm not alone here.

A handshake? Go to for me and every other man in the world. "Well Kyle, study hard this semester" followed by a handshake was what I got in my drive way (my parents also never drove me or dropped me off at college lol) 7 times during my college tenure. A hug? Sure, go for it. I personally keep a 3 foot radius away from my dad at all times because if I get any closer it gets uncomfortable, but hugging your old man is perfectly acceptable. A kiss on the cheek/head? Starting to get a little weird. If your a young child I can see it but I feel like once you hit elementary school that ship has sailed. But a kiss on the lips? Line has officially been drawn. At no point in a man's life should he feel the desire to kiss his father on the lips, that's just plain weird. If a tie is like kissing your sister, than what the hell is kissing your dad, a 28-3 collapse in the Super Bowl?!?! (good tie in to the first part of the blog) The definitive list of people you can kiss on the lips goes as followed:

- Your significant other

- Your dog

- Your buddy when you get dared to and you need to prove how confident in your sexuality you are

- A piece of athletic equipment (stick, ball, cleat, etc)

- Other Actresses and actors

- Luke Bryan

- Random people at bars or sporting events when you get super excited and have no other way to express your emotions

- A baby? Not really a baby guy so I think people do this but not totally sure

That's it. At no point does that list include your dad. It doesn't include any family member for that matter. Kissing anybody on the lips that you share blood with is weird and I will not stand for it. We can't get lost in the fact that Tom Brady is the goat and nearly perfect (people forget he knocked up Bridget Moynahan). Just because he is who he is does NOT make it right for him to kiss his father on the lips.
