Soulja Boy vs. Chris Brown - Who Ya Got

CNN - Chris Brown and Soulja Boy have started the first celebrity feud of 2017.

Brown became infuriated with the rapper after he liked an Instagram picture of Brown's ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran.

Clearly old flames die hard. Brown and Tran broke up nearly two years ago after it was revealed he had fathered a child with another woman while they were together.

Soulja Boy took to Twitter on Monday night and claimed Brown called him and threatened to fight him for leaving a smiley-face emoji under the picture.

"Chris Brown just called me and said he wanna fight me because I liked @karrueche picture on Instagram this n**** a b****," Soulja Boy said.

Brown escalated the fight in a series of his own Instagram posts. One mentioned Brown's 2-year-old daughter, Royalty: "Happy New Year! Royalty is 2 and has 5 times more money than Soulja Boy already. I'd be mad too."

Tran had not responded on social media Tuesday. Her representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.

By Tuesday morning, Soulja Boy was trending on Twitter and fans were placing bets on who would win in a fight.

2017 twitter beefs are off to a FIRE start and it seems like these two might actually go at it. It started as a couple guys flexing their internet muscles and talking shit on twitter and turned into a huge production that has 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather promoting a celebrity boxing match on pay-per-view. Soulja Boy’s twitter avatar and latest posts on Instagram with the most overrated greatest boxer of all time make it seem like he’s down to train for the fight so I guess it’s about to go down. But the real question throughout all of this is who the hell would want to pay for this?

People don’t watch boxing as is because of how boring it is and how much better the UFC has become. Boston’s own Dana White and the UFC have completely kicked boxing’s ass. I love watching 2 idiots fight each other as much as the next guy but paying actual money for a fight that is guaranteed to be worse than Kimbo Slice (RIP) and Dada 5000 could not be less appealing (Dada 5000 literally almost died because he was so out of shape.)

I’m a big fighting guy and I absolutely love MMA. I know Kix thinks the UFC is overrated but there is honestly nothing on the planet that can compete with some of the hype that comes with it. I would pay for any UFC fight card over the absolute snooze fest that every Mayweather card ever has been. Most boring fights I’ve ever watched and I have never paid a dollar for it. I walked out. That being said, this fight is going to be absolutely HILARIOUS and will make a mockery of fighting everywhere. I can’t wait to see the highlights on twitter. Hey Soulja! YOUUUUUUU are about to get your teeth kicked in! (Too forced? Yeah probably)
