Bye Bye Sexy Rexy

Over the weekend the Buffalo Bills cut ties with Rex Ryan after just two years. Both he and his brother, Rob were shown the door after a BRUTAL loss in a 38-31 overtime loss at home to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday bringing Rex’s career record to 61-66 overall and 15-16 in Buffalo.
As bad a head coach as Rex is, it seems like Buffalo is punishing Rex unjustly. He signed a 5 year deal in early 2015 and had to try and win games with little to no reliable skill players. Tyrod Taylor has played decently well at quarterback for the past two years but trying to beat Tom Brady and the Patriots with that roster is borderline impossible. I think that he needed a little more time to develop his roster and should have been given at least one more year to try and end the Bills’ 17 year playoff drought, the longest in the NFL (yes, longer than the Browns. Unbelievable, I know).
Rex has been riding the coattails of his first two years when he went to back to back AFC title games with the Jets, but he has not made the playoffs in his six seasons since (four with NYJ, two with Buffalo).
But as a Patriots fan I will certainly miss playing against Rex Ryan twice a year. He was always had some stupid trash to talk and always had hilarious predictions against New England. No Rex Ryan coached team has beaten the Patriots in a meaningful game since the 2010 AFC playoffs and it was always nice looking at the schedule and seeing two guaranteed wins.
And hey, if Matt Patricia lands a head coaching job in the near future maybe Rex would like to take his talents to Foxboro and be the defensive coordinator for his hero, BB.
Kix note: Rex Ryan is the goat and Buffalo is INSANE to fire him. Rex Ryan is Buffalo. Period.
