TB12 is Officially Back

Yesterday marked the official return of Tom Brady to the Pats. And boy oh boy is Tommy back! Guy threw for over 400 yards and 4 TDs including 2 absolute Dilfer Dimes to Chris Hogan. Like I'm talking Kyle Wakefield 2013 intramural flag football DIMES. And on top of that Tommy was boogying! He had 2 real nice runs, one of which to pick up a big first down, then dropped some swag all over Believeland. So after yesterdays performance, it's safe to say TB12 is back, and as good as ever. yeah it was only one game and yeah it was against the Browns who use a wide out as quarterback, but you could tell Tommy was fired up and ready for action. He was in mid season form. His passes were exactly where they needed to be, his play calling was in tip top shape, and you could tell he was just excited to be out there. The game was just coming to him naturally. In the previous games, especially last week with Jacoby, you could see that he was forcing everyhting a little too much. Not the case for ole Tommy Boy though. Everything seemed so effortless and was just falling in to place, that's how you know your firing on all cylinders. The thing I was most impressed with though was the chemistry he had with Hogan and Bennett. I thought Tommy would be relying heavily on Gronk and Jules because he knows how reliable they are and has played with them for a while now. Not the case! Hogan and Bennett stepped right in and took a lot of the work off the shoulders of Gronk and Edelman. Which is just even scarier now if I'm a defensive coordinator not named Matt Patricia.

On to 3 THINGS I KNOW ABOUT THE PATS

1. The addition of Bennett plus a healthy Gronk is a throwback to the Aaron Hernandez days and I LOVE it. Last year we thought Scott Chandler could be the guy to bring back the dual threat TE offense that was so lethal in the Hernandez days, but it didn't end up panning out as planned. Bennett is the real deal. I feel like this trade this offseason kinda flew under the radar because of the deflategate nonsense? But regardless this was a HUGE (literal and figuritive, Bennett is a monster) acquisition for the Pats. Especially after a game like yesterdays, teams are gonna haveta forcus on Bennett, and that's gonna free up Gronk.

2. I'm still a little uneasy about this defense. Yes, typically in 3TIK I know for a fact about what I'm saying, but in the case for the Pats D, I know for a fact that I'm not totally sure about them. When they play great they shut out teams like Houston, but when they don't, they allow JV quarterbacks like tyrod Taylor to shred them apart. Yesterday I thought they were pretty good. They did they're job, held the Browns to only 2 TD, and kept them outta the red zone. But the 2 times they let em in the red zone, they let em score. However with TB12 back, they can take a sigh of relief because they know they can let up a few points and it's not the end of the world because this offense is gonna put up 30 points a game. But like most Pats defenses, come week 12 they'll have it all figured out and will be firing on all cylinders.

3. Stephen Gostowski is no longer the best kicker in the league and I HATE it. Kickers are MASSIVE in this league. You need to have a great kicker if you want to be a great team. And for the majority of his career, Stevie G was just that, a great kicker, usually the best in the league. He is no longer that now though, and it worries me. Ever since he missed the extra point in the playoofs last year he has been shaky. Yeah yesterdays was a 50 yarder, but we're used to him drilling those. He has been automatic for most of his career, but now he has shown signs of age and lack of confidence. Luckily it is stil early in the season and has plenty of time to work things out, but lemme tell you something for free, if I'm Tom Brady and my kicker is responsible for screwing up my quest for one for the thumb, I am NOT gonna be a happy camper. Figure it out Stephen, and figure it out fast.

Also, bonus 4th thing I know, Pats are winning the Super Bowl and Minnesota is a fraud.
