Patriots Quarter Season Review

Today's loss to Buffalo wrapped up the first quarter of the regular season for the Pats. 3-1 without TB12 and I will absolutely take it. Yeah today sucked all around and you can't completely pin the game on Jacoby stinking it up, but sitting at 3-1 and first in the division isn't half bad for a team using their third string QB. Much better than what I thought was gonna happen. I was expecting 1-3 or 2-2 at best with some eek out victories. There were times where I was ready to put Tommy on the trading block and ride Jimmy G, as well as times where I was ready to trade Jimmy and book a one way ticket to the promised land all aboard the Jacoby Train. But then today happened and it is pretty obvious that Tommy is still the guy. Absolutely no QB controversy in Foxborough come week 5 like some people thought their may be. Jimmy showed flashes of being good, but ultimately doesn't know how to protect himself and is subject to getting dinged up way too often to lead this team. Jacoby just straight up isn't very good. I don't know what happened in the last 10 days but Jacoby was not the same player he was against Houston as he was today versus the Bills. The fumble in the red zone was just an absolute BONEHEAD move, along with far too many throws that he just missed, where Tommy would never miss.
Outside of the QB position, the D has looked real solid, holding Buffalo to 1 TD today and putting up a goose egg on the Texans. They're making plays and forcing teams to kick FGs which you love to see. Special teams was poor today though. Poor Cyrus Jones, guy's gonna be in need on a job come monday morning. The opening kick off not listening to Slater was a bizarre move, along with a muffed punt. Bill has no time for special team schenanigans and prides himself on doing the little things right so hate to say it but Cyrus Jones has played his last game as a Patriot. Gostowkski bro, WTF? I don't know whats up with my man Stevie G. Dude used to be AUTOMATIC from inside 50 and he's already missed 2 FGs this year. Very uncharacteristic, need to figure that out.
4 games in, I like where we stand. we'll beat the Bills when we head to the Ralph at the end of the month, the Dolphins are garbage, and the Jets are the Jets. We're gonna lock up the division by November again with Tommy at the helm. Prediction: we win out and grab one for the thumb, duh.
Also, I am officially over having a bad quarterback, not as exciting as I though it'd be, more so just frustrating. I'm back on the TB12 train.
