The Niners had a game this weekend and since we're talking preseason NFL, it usually takes a non-game related incident to make headlines and Colin Kaepernick did just that. So as you've probably seen, Kaepernick refused to stand during the National Anthem, he exercised his right as an American to disrespect the country to make a statement. Now I'm a white guy so I obviously don't know what it's like for African-Americans in this country. With that said I do know what the National Anthem means and represents and stands for. America isn't perfect, we all know that. There are outliers and misfits in our society, and every society. But we can't let those people be the reflection of this great country. 95% of this beautiful country's people are completely normal and stay in their lane. But for some reason everyone keeps harping on the 5% that are ruining America. Just because there were some racist cops who took the lives of innocent civilians does not mean all cops are racist. The VAST majority of police officers in this country do their job because they truly want to serve and protect, the outliers should not be the representation that we see.
Yes Kaepernick has the right to express his opinion and political views, but he should remember the reason he's allowed to do that and not be publicly executed like he probably would in some countries is because of that very national anthem that he refused to respect. This country is the reason he has the platform to express his beliefs. The men and women who have fought and died for our freedom and right to speak freely is what that anthem represents. So next time he or anybody thinks it's a good idea to blatantly disrespect the greatest country in the world, just take a second to remember why you have that right and everyone who died for that right, it's because of them that your able to do such a thing. I have no problem with him expressing his political views, but he should have chose a better way to do so, a way that wouldn't be incredibly disrespectful to our soldiers, veterans, their friends and families, and proud American citizens like myself. Actually scratch that I have a huge problem with celebrities expressing their political views, you're no different than the weirdo on Facebook going on rants. Go out play football and stop making it about yourself. Leave the politics to the politicians, be grateful you play a game for a living.
Also, Kaepernick STINKS! Dude had one good half a season because nobody had seen the option before. I said it at the time as soon as the rest of the league has an offseason to prepare and study his film, he is gonna be donezo. Stupidest decision the Niners ever made was trading Alex Smith and dumping a ton of cash on Kaepernick, guy is such a bum.
Also, Also Kapernick is literally a deer
